NY-City

End of October, in the heat of the election comic strip, Karen & I travel to NYC.
Timing is just perfect, right in the middle of an exceptional Indian Summer!

Central Park is a lovely start for a walk & a bike tour.
Many others will follow. Chelsea, Harlem, High Line, Brooklyn, Korean area….
Some of them were inspired by the ‘yellow book’ of Patrick van Rosendaal.
A Belgian guide based in NYC and founder of BENY.
His credo: “come as a Belgian, leave as a New Yorker”

We also met one of the best airbnb hosts ever, Guy & Velvet.

Next to the WTC memorial, which really is an emotional monument, you can find another railway station designed by Santiago Calatrava. Yes, the man who designed Gare Guillemins in Liege, Belgium.
And he did it once again. Budget was $2 billion, but when Oculus was finished last October, the bill was an unconscionable $4 billion in public money!
Just like his other projects you need to watch your wallet.

Manhattan skyscrapers are impressing but i fell in love with the inspiring Brooklyn part.
Good restaurants, drinks and plenty of artistic vibes. For example all publicity is painted on walls & panels instead of being distributed by posters, which gives it a special feel.
