The ‘Verbeke museum’ is one of a kind. They want to be a place where culture, nature & ecology are closely intertwined.
Their aim is to present you an unfinished, in motion, unpolished, contradictory, untidy, complex, inharmonious, living and unmonumental, like the world outside of the museum walls, exhibition.
If you ask me, they succeeded!
Nature & art walk ‘hand in hand’, just like the ‘strandbeesten’ by Theo Jansen.
I spend the night in their B&B named ‘CasAnus’by Joep van Lieshout.
