The city that never sleeps
New York
In 1849 Ezekiel Porter Belden wrote the following:
“On an autumn day, in the year 1609, a strange sight appeared to the Indians that crowded the shores of Manhattan. It was the bark of Henry Hudson, then in the employ of the Dutch East India Company, who, on a voyage in search of a north-west passage to the Indies, had entered, on the 3d of September, the southern waters of New-York.”
You could even say that Antwerp was part of NY’s growth.
About 2 million migrants started their journey with the Red Star Line.
Much has changed since.
NYC is more than Manhattan only. Harlem is really worth a walk, so is Chelsea. Brooklyn is a creative melting pot and gives you a stunning view on the island.
Some of our October walks were inspired by beNY.
