News item on national television: “Opening of the 500m long suspension bridge in Switzerland.”
This immediately made me search the WWW to look for some additional info. In a blink of an eye i knew, we have to do this!
Checking my hiking boots i quickly realised i needed to do some shopping.
Got some new Meindels, walking sticks & compass. During the hike those sticks proofed to be very handy.
Booked dinner & 2 beds at Europa H\u00fctte Randa<\/a> because it will be a 2-day hike and we need a place to eat and get some sleep. All check boxes ticked we drove to Zermatt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because we stayed in a hotel in Zermatt, we got up at 5AM to catch a train to Gr\u00e4chen. From there a short bus ride took us to our starting point.
A 14hr30 walk was indicated, in reality it took us more.
But we wouldn’t make it faster the next time, it’s too beautiful not to enjoy.
The hike itself is rated as a T3 walk following the Suisse Alpin club<\/a>.
And that was no lie. We felt a little fatigue after 2 days climbing rocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
